The most common question, probably, that a client
asks to his criminal defense attorney in Las Vegas is how much the lawyer’s
involvement to the case is going to cost. Because the cost of each lawyer
varies, I made an overview to address this question.
Financial questions can cause uneasiness in anyone;
unless both parties have plenty of it to spare, questions in this matter can be
shaded off easily. Truth be told, for attorneys, it is impossible to provide
an accurate answer. That is because attorneys have their own fees to compensate
their legal services. It may be hourly (where the client pays the attorney on
an hourly visit that the case or consultation consumes), flat-rate (where payment is definite for legal
services that has a specific nature like divorce or
last will fillings), retainers (where the client offers an advance payment and
the lawyer puts in an special trust in case of emergencies) or contingent fees
(which means that the attorney takes no fee from the client but gets a
percentage of the settlement or money after the case).
Despite the cost it’s going to cause, an attorney’s knowledge of the law must be sought and understood fully.
